Three plays by Alexander Hamilton "of Heuvel" (1815-1907) grandson of Alexander Hamilton, first Secretary of the Treasury of the United States. In addition to writing the well-received plays contained in this volume, Thomas A'Beckett (seen by President Lincoln) and Cromwell, he served in the Civil War under General Grant and in "special service" to President Lincoln.
