The Dragonflies of Mars - The Dragonflies Are Calling

This is the first book of a series called, ""The Dragonflies of Mars."" The story is a coming of age story of a sixteen year old girl named Mara. When Mara turns sixteen her parents take her and her best friend on a cruise to celebrate. During the cruise they are met with disaster and have to abandon ship only to wake up on Mars. Mara is separated from her friend and family and is captured by a powerful ruling house known as the Hugos. The Hugos are at war with another powerful house known as the Darknights. The Hugo's and the Darknights have met in war before known as the pod wars that nearly destroyed all of Mars. Now these two houses are on the verge of war again only they are being manipulated by a powerful demon. Mara is the only one who can stop the two houses from war and put an end of the demon determined to destroy the planet because she can speak the original language of the universe and has the power of the words of Jesse.
