Diagnosis

Diagnosis highlights the socio-economic, emotional, cultural, and physical effects of HIV/AIDS among gay men of color. This work continues a tradition of resistance, transformation, and transcendence by confronting the social silence around the pandemic, and by giving voice to a community whose internalized silence was often regarded as acceptance. The urgency of this health crisis has not weakened, and Diagnosis, through bold and original language, reaffirms the need to question what was at stake 25 years ago, and is at stake in the present: one's humanity.
