This is the revised and updated edition of Design Patterns Java Workbook which incorporates the exercises and examples from the 1st edition with the stand-alone pedagogy of Metsker's Design Patterns in C#. An application book rather than a theoretical one, this book is for software developers who want to gain a better understanding of the patterns described in the GoF DESIGN PATTERNS book. The book's intent is to give developers the confidence and know-how to apply the original 23 patterns identified in the Gamma book, with all code examples provided in Java and UML. Each chapter includes an introduction and includes a series of "challenges" to help strengthen the reader's ability to apply design patterns in their own programs.
