Modernizing traditional fables and children's stories in order to discuss current topics with a critical and humorous vision, this illustrated book of tales displays fairy-tale characters who do not have happy lives--the seven dwarves are unemployed, the three little pigs do not find a good home, and Cinderella is obese and does not fit in the glass slippers. Additional discontented individuals are also included in these tales, such as a panda bear that refuses to reproduce in captivity and a dog with an artistic vocation who signs his work as Van Dog.
