Samantha is a cafA(c) waitress supporting her sister, Rachel, who is crippled. Jonah is the son of the president. After a few years of living different lives, they are reunited when Samantha and Rachelas father is sent to the hospital, and Jonah comes to pay them a visit. The father is on his deathbed and needs heart surgery. However, the sudden death of an acquaintance leads them to learn of his secret past that involves the military. Using public records, information from the dead military officeras house and a clock, they discover that their friend was killed over some missing missile codes. If the codes fall into the wrong hands, it would cause problems. Together they must find the codes and get back to the girlas father before it is too late.
