The Congressman And The Lady

Alicia Allyn joins a group on a mission trip to Moldova. Rushing to the plane, she bumps into a man causing a fall and missing their flight. A friendship develops. Timothy Sterling, the congressman, remains in Washington, D.C., while Alicia joins her group. In Moldova, an earthquake causes destruction. While helping people, a little girl pulls on Alicia. She follows the distraught child from town. Alicia finds a destroyed house; her parents are dead. An aftershock traps Alicia and child. The mission group hunts for Alicia. Timothy hears about a missing American woman in Moldova. He feels the need to help search, takes leave, travels to Moldova, joins the group, and finds Alicia and the child with many injuries. The group returns to Washington, D.C. Alicia and Timothy keep in touch. Timothy assures Alicia he will help her adopt the orphan. The daughters become upset with so many phone calls from Timothy; after all Dad has only been dead a year.
