Founded in 1952, the journal "Diabetes" has brought leading diabetes theories and concepts to clinical and research settings. Perspectives in Diabetes, a special article section launched in 1988, built on this tradition. This title compiles the Perspectives in Diabetes\' articles published from 1993 to 1997 and includes commentaries on them.
