Since technology is a key enabler of sharing economy concepts, Blockchain stands out as a disintermediating and disruptive technology. The hype among information technology enthusiasts, financial investors and traders brings back memories of the dot-com bubble. One important lesson learned from this was the urgent need to distil viable, beneficial and future-oriented business models.
