Biology of Lepturacanthus savala (Cuvier, 1829) Off Ratnagiri Coast

Lepturacanthus savala, the ribbonfish or cutlass fish belonging to the family Trichiuridae (Order: Perciformes) are the main contributors of the trichurid catch along the Ratnagiri coast. Present study analyses the various aspects of biology of L. savala along the coast of Ratnagiri, Maharashtra, such as length frequency, length-weight relationship, food and feeding habits as well as reproductive development.
