Andrew W. Mellon: The Man and His Work

Andrew W. Mellon is perhaps the only great public figure who has not been made the subject of a biography. Like most men, he did not realize his own importance. He refuses to believe that the story of his life is sufficiently interesting to merit placing it between the covers of a book. There is no more interesting man in America than Andrew Mellon. No rags to riches story as his, but he is well worth writing about and reading about. Just because he was born to fortune does not mean that his story is lacking in romance. It isn't. On the contrary, his life has been replete with romance - the romance of achievement!
