Philosophical Notes: An Outlook is not a typical philosophical text; it is a series of notes - what one might call short philosophical reflections - on various subjects grouped, loosely, into topics. Discussions in the book include an examination of the relationships between art and culture; what counts as good judgement (and why); rights and their relationship with our understanding of individuality; individuality and ethical perspectives; what it means to receive a good education and the differences between education and training. It also looks at the role of art in education; the nature of art and its relationship with meaning, and the impact of the natural world on our understanding.
