Ambrein

Es ist der Hauptinhaltstoff der grauen Ambra (Ambra grisea) des Pottwals. Ambrein wurde als Fixateur bei der Parf mherstellung verwendet. Die Verbindung ist vollkommen geruchslos, durch Oxidation von Ambrein, z. B. durch Luftsauerstoff, entstehen die eigentlichen Geruchsstoffe, Ambrox und Ambrinol.
