The Amazing Adventures of Quigley D. Pigley and His Friends: How to Become an Astronaut

The first issue introduces the main characters Quigley D. Pigley, Madison and her little brother Luke. They live on a farm in central Florida not too far from the Kennedy Space Center. Today, the space shuttle is going to fly to the space station and the three friends are planning to watch the launch from their back yard. Madison wants to be an astronaut when she grows up. Luke thinks only boys can become astronauts. Quigley explains to them that through education, boys and girls can both become whatever they desire. The three friends decide to go on an 'adventure' to the space center to learn about becoming an astronaut. This will be the first of many adventures with Quigley and his friends as they learn about different professions. The many adventures will also teach them to follow the rules of their parents and teachers and, to treat others with respect and kindness.
