24h Nairobi: Kilianji Kia Henda

In July 2007, a few friends around a table in a restaurant in Nairobi formed the idea to create a book about the real Nairobi. 24 Nairobi is the first to explore Nairobi in an imaginative, comprehensive way. The city has a turbulent past: just over 100 years old, it was the first apartheid city in Africa, and has been shaped by military unrest, incessant slums and industrialisation. Today Nairobi is home to four million contradictory personal histories; 24 Nairobi does justice to those histories.
