Mock My Destruction

With a title borrowed from a Shakespearean drama, Mock My Destruction is a British-genre whodunit story about a young heiress with a tragic family history, who in the late 1960s arrives in England from Australia to live on property inherited from her late stepfather. He was a wartime commando who became a racecar driver after World War II. In an effort to secure the young womanas safety and prosperity the protagonist, a fiction writer and amateur detective digs into the testatoras intriguing past. In old files, and not only there, he discovers curious links to the manas army comrades and their life insurance policies. It turns out that even a distant wartime past may have grave consequences for the young heiressas prosperous well-being, and actually, not only hers.
