Nicola Pelizzari is a PhD fellow in Applied Linguistics at the School of Education, Languages and Linguistics (SELL) – University of Portsmouth, UK. His research interests range from the linguistic features of specialised medical documents, as well as health literacy and health communication, in particular with regard doctor-patient communication barriers. In addition to his research activities, he teaches specialised English discourse in several universities as well as being the author of a series of training manuals for the English language.
