The 2012 edition of the United States Code represents the 87th anniversary of the Code. It is the 15th edition of the Code. This edition is a consolidation and codification of the general and permanent laws of the United States in force on January 1, 2012. It incorporates the legislation enacted subsequent to the 2012 edition and up to the end of the 112th Congress. It may be cited as "U.S.C. 2012 ed. The United States Code is the Code of Laws of the United States of America and is a compilation and codification by subject matter of all the general and permanent Federal laws of the United States. This volume contains codified Federal laws pertaining to the U.S. Armed Forces and Banks and Banking systems as of 2012.
