Proceedings of the «32° Incontro di grammatica generativa» (Firenze, 2-4 March 2006)

We are very pleased to publish the Proceedings of the XXXII Incontro di Grammatica Generativa, which took place in Florence on 2-4 March 2006. The volume collects roughly two-thirds of the papers presented at the meeting - which taken together provide an excellent perspective on the varied and highly articulated nature of the topics debated during the conference. Thus most fields of linguistics are represented, including morphology, phonology and psycholinguistics, though the majority of the articles submitted concern both theoretical and descriptive issues in syntax. It is therefore our view that this book constitutes an interesting contribution to the current scientific debate in the field of theoretical linguistics – and we hope the reader will come to share this view.
