The Owyhee region of southwest Idaho is one of the truly unique regions in the continental United States. Approximately 10,000 people inhabit this high desert region that is larger than the commonwealth of Massachusetts. Natives, settlers and miners battled for control of the Owyhees during the 19th Century. Today Owyhee Country contains some of the most spectacular, pristine canyonlands in the United States.
